Masterplan Molenveld-Pekgat, Stabroek, 2014

The project area is located between fragments and built up areas, a piece of open countryside which is wedged between roads and city blocks.
A structure that is required as a backbone for the development, but that is not fixed in precise implementation; which shows openness to participation, responsive to circumstances. Just because it is open it does not mean that there is no planning.
Putting together, connecting, attaching. This happens in several ways: crosslinking edges, regulating flows, importing and exporting to and from the surrounding.
On the scale of the plots of the village, the connecting paths, the individual homes, but also from local fields and canals.
The waterways and infrastructure are in an initial stage largely, but not fully implemented. The development of the construction is planned in several stages. There is an initial project that is known, but the timing and location of the (following) stages are still open. Depending on all the parameters and participants, the municipality can work faster or slower with this or several sections of the area. The development can be executed in stages, on areas following a virtual grid of cca 1 ha. Only the first frame of the project will be definitively determined in the beginning. At the end of each phase, the following project in the grid is determined.
Because the landscape and infrastructural elements have been implemented beforehand, this ensures that at any point in development, the project area will have spatial coherence and will be perceived as an agricultural area, a nature reserve, a park landscape, a living area, a green area, a neighborhood with trees and water.
Slow Development: organic growing, according to desires, needs, market, more or less controlled.
